I like how you pointed out that poverty was not necessarily a lack of things. You can have a lot of things and be flat broke. Likewise there are a lot of factors that give the illusion of someone being better off than they are. The old saying “never judge a book by its cover” really fits here, as you can’t judge if a person is poor or not until you look at the numbers. After all it _is_ amazing what you can find at yard sales.

Beautiful sharing. Wonderfully thoughtful piece. Really made me appreciate what I have and where I’m at, while at the same time reminding me there is no shame in poverty or doing without.
