If you guys insist on making me cry, thank goodness it's the middle of the night and I can do it in the dark, with dignity.

Dorian & Dave,

As you can see above, I decided not to leave either one of you out in this case.

This part made me laugh:

"The place looks like Norman Rockwell and John Muir got together and designed a town, after having first asked advice from Thomas Kinkade and Ansel Adams".

The parts about Dorian's grandmother and aunt dying made me cry.

The picture of the cabin, with all of that firewood, nestled in those amazing trees covered with snow made me smile. So beautiful!

Reading about those twisting & turning roads reminded me of when we went to Sequoia National Park, during construction season. A mama bear and her cubs ran out in front of our car and gave me quite a fright. I was already a bit on edge because there were parts of the rugged mountain road that were down to just 1 lane to be used alternatively by either side (scary). You couldn't see very well if you were going to make it before an oncoming car came along or not.

It was dark before we left the park (really hard to see) and my morning sickness (I mean 24-hour-a-day-sickness) was not handling the winding drive through the mountains very well. I'm sure you can use your imagination that as gorgeous a place as Sequoia is, I was relieved when we had returned to streets where a head-on collision was less likely. :)

It is touching the way you talk about the special times you shared at Camp Nelson. I'm sure being there is emotional but I'm so glad that your midway status on the move has gotten you in close enough proximity to spend time with the loved ones you hold dear.

Happy holidays!

Jeanne
