I have no doubt of the consumed comment's brilliance but find this one inspired. I'm grabbing inner tubes for all of us, including an extra to keep the ice chest on..

My comment yesterday was brilliant but you have to take my word for it as the ether has consumed it.

And am I annoyed.? No, I'm going to slip into the stream with Ohmyworddidisaythat?

So well said, especially the part about pursuing your goals while pursuing ourselves.

It's sooo easy to get caught up in drudgery and work, and not make time to do all those things we wanted to do, like hobbies, or writing or spending time with family. Before you know it, 10 years have gone by that you won't ever get back.

And the expression "Make Time" is funny, isn't it? We can't make it, but it's ours for the taking in a nanosecond, otherwise, woosh, you snooze you loose.

Too many get caught up in the pursuit of goals at the expense of self. Ironically, balance isn't achieved as much thru choices as by allowing things to coexist. If we could just lower our [misplaced] standards, we'd be better able to ignore a mess or two til after something more important. If life is what happens while we're making other plans, it's also what happens between plans.
I love your point about “making time” as it should really be “grabbing time,” shouldn't it? If it were, maybe we'd all be more aware that it's slipping by but up for grabs & ours to enjoy if only we will.
"...who yields to time..." That word "yield" is powerful. When I resist the flow of time, I am not yielding. When I fear the flow of time, I'm not yielding. When I worry, push, hide, avoid, I'm not yielding. I would like to step in, lower myself gently, and float along in the stream of time, smiling as I encounter life along the moving shoreline.

Allowing ourselves to encounter life is absolutely the goal. Your description is perfection! It's as we float along, w/out distraction, that we're able to readily see the opportunities & blessings filling our shorelines. Enjoy the ride!

It is amazingly ironic (or maybe that should be 'synchronistic' since that is one of my favorite concepts!) how often of late your writings seem to reflect my readings, even though we have not communicated in any form about what I am currently reading! While in Nevada City for our anniversary I found & purchased a book called 'Notes from the Universe', which I have been reading since we returned. The author, Mike Dooley, talks a lot about Time & Space & our perceptions if it & how all is affected by our thoughts. More than most of us imagine. It is very thought provoking & uplifting which is why I bought it. My psyche needed it! And here you are on your blog talking about the very same life affirming concepts that I have been learning!!! (Thank you! :-) ) And something else - one of the books I just recently ordered is 'The Power of Now'! Pretty synchronistic, wouldn't you agree???

In our pursuit of universal truths, we're no doubt tuning into universal needs. Not taking things for granted, striving to expand our worlds & being intrinsically tuned into each other is bound to create intersections between those worlds. Even when those intersections aren't physical (Have I mentioned lately that I miss you?), we're connected & it's a joy being in sync w/you! Keep being so quick to comment & we'll essentially create a 'For more information, read:' feature.
Thank you for sharing these books, thoughts & connections. The titles alone are inspiring; do share what you're learning as you go!? It's precisely because our lives are a product of our tho'ts & perceptions that I'm writing this blog..
